Tottenham won AZ and progressed to quarter final of Europa League
Tottenham managed to win AZ with result of 3:1 like I predicted in comments on Tottenham Away TV show. The difference in quality of both sides were too big to let Dutch side go through. Hamstring eating Minotaur from Knossos labyrinth on Tottenham bench sent these 11 on the pitch: Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Djed Spence, Sarr, Bergvall, Maddison, Odobert, Solanke, Son. It was so nice to see Van de Ven on the pitch and how much he means to this squad. Nice surprise was also playing the most skillful player in squad Maddison from the beginning of the game. Odobert on right side instead of Johnson was also good idea. First half was boring without big chances a part from goal. Van de Ven stopped few attempts of guests, while Djed Spence fought a war with AZ best player winger Poku and managed to keep him quite in most of the game. Goal came after good press, Son ran toward opponent and Solanke showed that he has good football IQ as he ran toward goalkeeper cutting that possibility for pass to AZ right back who tried to turn around and kick it long, but Son was to close blocked it, ball deflected to Dom who had couple of players around him very soon, but he showed his football IQ, didn't shoot on goal but played nice simple low and short ball toward Odobert who was running alone inside the box and Frenchman didn't missed the sitter! 1:0 and AZ advantage has been canceled! Nice play, but root of this goal is press and bad reaction of AZ player on right side. A part of that only interesting moment was free kick for Tottenham on like 18 meters of goal for foul on Porro, but Madders and Son took ball from Spanish player and he was not very happy about that! Anyway nothing interesting happen from that free kick. Other interesting moment was Romero shouting on product of Spurs academy playing for AZ Troy Parrot after he took ball out of him with tackle. I was not impressed with such behavior. Save that for Chelsea, Liverpool, Eintracht, Lazio and Man United players pal! AZ tried to move little forward in second half, but Spurs players manage to take ball off them. Before you could say cheese Son was inside the box with two opponents in front of him trying to make space for shot, but noticed Madders with a lot of space near by and made clever low short pass toward him and Spurs the most skillful player didn't miss the chance and made it 2:0! Van de Ven was subbed off around 60. minute and Archie Gray came in. Spurs gifted goal after Bergvall kicked ball into Odobert on the edge of the box and ball deflected just right for AZ player who ran alone on Vicario and scored for 2:1. I was confident Tottenham players will score again and make me hit correct result and that soon happen after the best piece of football I saw Spurs played for a while. It was fantastic action which started with Odobert taking ball away pass it back, soon Vicario had it in his feet and made nice medium range high pass on the left where one Tottenham player controled it very nice. I might be wrong but I think it was Djed Spence who made right time pass toward Maddison who ran forward and step on opponent half find Djed on the left, he passed to Son, Son was in front of edge of the box, but Djed made nice overlapping run and South Korean passed him good ball in space, Spence made low cross inside where Solanke made this action more spectacular with little flick with his heel and ball came toward alone Odobert in front of empty net who scored "touch down" or "tap in" for 3:1. That was some action I've enjoyed a lot and I hope I can see more of those in following games! Spurs don't let you relax in the game and they almost made life complicated for themselves. AZ had big chance but Vicario saved us once again with deflecting attempt from close range. Ball went left there was AZ player there, he tried to put it inside the net but Bissouma and Vicario together dived and deflected it into corner. That was equally important like scoring goal. Like you can see Son was involved in all 3 goals for Spurs on one way or another, Solanke showed he has good football IQ and his return means a lot to this club. Odobert was good on the right. He is looking more and more like proper winger. Midfield trio was also up to the task, Djed Spence fought war with Poku and managed to keep him under control while Van de Ven showed how important he is for this team. Before we start claiming we're going to win Europa League or even worse that Minotaur on the bench is some coach we should remember this was only AZ Alkmaar 6th club in Dutch league where one of the best player is Troy Parrot who doesn't have space in Spurs squad. This was bellow midtable championship level opposition. Next opponent is Eintracht Frankfurt which trashed the most famous Dutch team Ajax.Let's see if he can go past them before we start crowing about winning competition please. This win was nice, but it can't clear all wrong doings of Minotaur on the bench in previous games, he's the same guy without necessary tactical skills who's destroying our players one by one. Last example is Danso who came in January and already have hamstring injury! Someone said average percentage of hamstring injuries are 24% and Spurs have almost double like 48% ! Let this guy run this failing season until the end, give him chance to prove I'm wrong by winning Europa League, but please remove him and other football personal in the Summer and bring Andoni Iraola with his staff in and bring in some cracking football director! We really need serious coach and football people! Scott Munn and Johan Lange are not that! I am saying this because I already see club's mouthpiece is doing interview with Ange like he's some big coach where he is saying how he's enjoying his time in Spurs etc... I'm glad for him, but what really matters is this are fans enjoying what they see ? I don't think so. No one likes to see that much home and away defeats and so many games where goalkeepers saved us from catastrophe! Let's sit and see what he can do against Marco Silva's Fulham on Sunday!

Were Tottenham Hotspur Really At Risk of Relegation?
After Tottenham’s win vs Ipswich and Arsenal’s lose vs West Ham, this is the first time both events have happened since the 9th October 2024. Spurs are seemingly back to normal service and that means winning games and climbing back up the table. We have a few senior players back from injury and with no domestic or European matches midweek, the confidence is back amongst the club’s fans again. We can now make substitutions in games and bring on experienced players who are proven at this level. This is something Manchester United are now finding out, with their bench on the previous game being full of youth players. Injuries have a severe impact on performance on the beach, Arsenal have four of their forwards being out on the sidelines and look at their recent results, they are struggling to break down teams. It was a simple case of getting our players back and our form will return. There has been so much pressure on Big Ange over the last few months and I wonder if Arteta will soon feel the pressure too with their title hopes all but gone. Pundits, fans and rival fans were saying Tottenham were at risk of relegation should take a good hard look in the mirror. When we were at our lowest was when we lost to Everton and were 16th in the table, the teams in relegation as of today still have the same number of points as they did da. Tottenham were never at risk, just media looking for attention-grabbing headlines. It is always important to have context. Liverpool changed their entire squad vs Plymouth in the third round of the FA Cup due to the number of games they have played, and they lost. There is still a lot to play for, especially in the Europa League with Tottenham being the favorites to win the competition. Come on you Spurs!
